Convenient Features
AI translation
When you set up a project, you can decide whether to use AI translation to auto translate your project. The AI translation interface can translate text to hundreds of different languages from almost any language. The result, depending on the language, is near-perfect, no matter whether you use the Simple or Advanced translation mode.
If your text will be published, we strongly recommend reviewing the translated text to make sure it reads well and is correct. This is after all the task of professional translators/editors. Doc3 includes an Editing tool for this purpose. (See “Editor Description” above.)
Neural Machine Translation
This option can speed up the translation process. Instead of having to type everything you translate from scratch, you can use this add-on as a convenient ‘typing’ aid.
Any text that has not been translated against an uploaded translation memory in this case will be machine translated and presented to you when you open the segment. You are strongly encouraged to edit the machine translated proposal to make sure the translation is correct and that the grammar and way of expression are correct.
Initially, the Machine Translation (MT) add-on relies on a proprietary text corpus and a Neural Machine Translation engine. The solution supports some 20+ languages and is best suited for technical subject domains, but can also be helpful for other types of texts.
Note: This solution does not rely on commercial machine translation engines and content from the public field.
Real-time QA – CrossCheck®
Use this option to check text you translate for formal errors in real time and avoid embarrassing mistakes in the projects you deliver.
This add-on relies on CrossCheck®, a reliable translation QA solution that has been on the market since 2006. Every time you submit a segment, it gets checked in the background by the CrossCheck® engine and you will receive instant feedback on all the QA issues.
If your project uses glossaries, CrossCheck® can also check that glossary terms have been used – or not used – and will warn you of wrong or missing terms.
CrossCheck® has been tightly integrated in Doc3, and whenever an error is detected, you can decide on whether it is real or false, and you can choose to ignore similar errors in the future.
In its basic form, CrossCheck® has 5 standard checking profiles that cover 60+ specific checks. Later, we plan to release a version where you can set up checking profiles yourself. †
If you subscribe to the CrossCheck® add-on, you can also issue a CrossCheck® certificate (a seal) for each project you deliver to your client as proof of active QA on your project. Don’t forget to state your CrossCheck QA efforts and skills in your CV to promote yourself and stand out in the selection processes.
Private Cloud Space
Your subscription also includes your own private cloud space where you can store often used settings, glossaries and translation memories. This private Cloud account saves time when setting up new projects and you get access to convenient tools to e.g. query previously translated material.
With a private cloud space account, you can run multiple projects in parallel. This is very useful if you need to deliver smaller projects on a daily basis while working on other bigger projects at the same time.
